Lane Kiffin, Oakland Raiders' new head coach, said Tuesday that he fully expects to see Randy Moss decked in Silver and Black in the upcoming season, not the oft-rumored Green and Gold, Green Bay Packers fans have been wary of.
It is reported that this rumor has not distracted the Green Bay Packers as they prepare for the upcoming season - which now includes a Thanksgiving Day stomping of the Detroit Lions! (With Favre on the field on what I consider THE PERFECT day for a football game, I might save myself some Turkey Day calories - you don't want that tryptophan to put you to sleep for the second half!)

"We're Still Plugging Along..."
At least that is what Green Bay Packers' GM Ted Thompson recently said regarding free agency. Hopefully there is a plan in place to bring back the running game and give Brett Favre a few guys to throw to, THEN we should be all set to see the Green Bay Packers go straight to the Super Bowl!

Making Game Day Plans?

While we still have to wait a few weeks for the actual Green Bay Packers 2007-2008 schedule to be announced, we know the following teams will sweat the Pack visiting their home turf: Chicago Bears, Detroit Lions, Minnesota Vikings, Dallas Cowboys, New York Giants, Denver Broncos, Kansas City Chiefs and the same place finisher from NFC West either the Arizona Cardinals, Seattle Seahawks, San Francisco 49ers, or the St. Louis Rams (running out of time to confirm who that is - will report back). Then at home the Green Bay Packers will obviously play host to the other NFC teams, as well as the Philadelphia Eagles, Washington Redskins, Oakland Raiders, San Diego Chargers and the same place finisher from the NFC South either the Atlanta Falcons, Carolina Panthers, New Orleans Saints or the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Have you added your name to the ticket list?
If you haven't already, add your name (or your great-grandchildren's name) to the Green Bay Packers season-ticket list. Granted there are 70,000 people ahead of you waiting to get in to Lambeau Field, but what the heck?
You just need to send a written request and including the name, address, phone number and the number of Green Bay Packers tickets requested, limited to 4, to the Packers Ticket Office, P.O. Box 10628 Green Bay, WI 54307-0628.
Can't wait? You can get single-game tickets as soon as the 2007-2008 schedule is announced through a Wisconsin ticket broker. I like to work with a local Wisconsin company - my experience has been that they are most likely to have the greatest number of ticket options available at the fairest prices.

No Packers Game, No Problem....

Here we sit. Looking at "Spring ahead" tonight...one step closer to the Green Bay Packers upcoming season. With that said, there still is some other sports action in Wisconsin to get excited about - the Wisconsin Badgers Basketball team! Going for the Big 10 Championship - gearing up for March Madness. Ticket Prices at Lambeau Field Going Up
The face value of tickets in the bowl at Lambeau Field will increase this year by $5 a ticket says the Green Bay Packers' director of ticket operations. Still considerably lower than a comparable ticket's face value for the Minnesota Vikings or for the Chicago Bears, and about equal to that of a ticket to see the Detroit Lions.
Considering the fact that ESPN The Magazine ranked a game day at Lambeau Field as tops in all professional sports franchises the last 2 years, along with the fact that the Packers season tickets have been sold out since the 1960's, makes this increase moot.
Since we are all buying tickets for a game at Lambeau in the secondary market, this $5 won't matter. If you haven't been to Green Bay yet, this is your year. See Favre. See the Frozen Tundra.

Should've gone to nursing school....
From the Green Bay Packers' official website:
"Statements From Packers GM Ted Thompson (on Brett Favre's ankle surgery) "Quarterback Brett Favre underwent minor ankle surgery this morning in Green Bay. The procedure went as expected and he is recovering at this time. We expect no complications and that he will be cleared to participate in offseason workouts similar to his schedule in 2006."
Get well soon Brett. No pressure - we are all just depending on you.

Brown County Residents - Shot at GREEN BAY PACKERS TICKETS!!!
Folks in Green Bay, WI, specifically in Brown County, you have until 3/15/07 to register for your chance to purchase single game tickets for the upcoming Green Bay Packers season! Hey, face value for the forever sold out Green and Gold! Not too shabby!
You need to go to Lambeau Field (few locations once there) and fill out a form, show ID etc and then you just have to wait!
Waiting is just what our favorite quarterback, Brett Favre, will have to do too, when he undergoes ankle surgery he has pushed off for awhile in the coming week or so. At this point, folks are saying Brett should be up for the May 18th mini camp - can't wait for that early summer tan shimmering perfectly against that ever-protective red jersey!
GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO PACKERS!

Planning for the future....
No this isn't about the Green Bay Packers' plans for the future...you know, without #4 Brett Favre, without Donald Driver, welcoming Randy Moss (????) but about the planning going on in my house. The wheels are turning for a weekend trip to see Brett and the Pack take on the Denver Broncos in Denver, as this is a confirmed road trip game in the upcoming season. While I support the idea of my husband planning a "guy's weekend", I am slightly disappointed that no where in the conversation was I mentioned as an "invited guest"....that's alright, he can have Denver, I will take Glendale, AZ, home of SUPER BOWL XLII - where the Green Bay Packers will be playing February 3, 2008 for their fourth Super Bowl title! Who's with me?

He's Back!
Finally something to look forward to! The return of #4. Now do we already have to start with the 'Will this be the last year?' question.
Let's just enjoy the moment. Just thinking about the Packers / Bears (Super Bowl XLI losers) game in Lambeau in '07 warms my heart. Oh, will the language be nasty.
Speaking of - - How great was the ad in the Super Bowl with our little #4 spreading the Green Bay Packers cheer? In case you missed it, it's on youtube.
We'll have a look at the schedule in a few months, but I think it goes without saying, get your Green Bay Packers tickets lined up early, because they are going all the way!

Buzzzzzzzzzz Kill.
There it was in black and white (well actually in high def color), Brett Favre getting choked up.
After a great win in Chicago, Brett Favre, legendary QB of the Green Bay Packers, future hall of famer - made it quite clear - retirement is SERIOUSLY in the very near future. It doesn't make sense. Give it one more year Brett!
He may be playing a practical joke on this - the most loyal of fan bases - with his hand shakes and goodbyes. Yeah, that's it.
We shall see.
Let's look to the future. The NFL will release the 2007 schedules in late April. I will be looking with interest as either it will be one last Super Bowl run for 'ol #4 or it will be a train wreck 3-13 season of rebuilding. It will be interesting to see how ticket prices go with this pending retirement. Regardless, I have found it best to deal with a local Wisconsin ticket broker for the best deals on Green Bay Packers tickets.
Brett - get the ankle back to 100%. Send Brittany off to college with a little cash in her pocket and give us just one more year? Please?

Math....
Will it happen? It is a long shot, I realize, but Favre in the post-season would be a nice belated Christmas present.
The Pack needs to beat Chicago (now Sunday night vs. noon - screwing up many people's New Years plans). Ok, you know what... too much math - bottom line, the Pack needs 8 games to go their way. Long shot, but still fun.
Have we discussed the Thursday night Packer win over the Viks? The rain lightened up a bit a kickoff. The drunks became drunker. The game; uglier. When the clock hit zeroes, it got prettier.
Memo to future visiting teams considering a Lambeau Leap... Might want to call Fred Smoot.

Packer Gear
If you are planning a trip to Green Bay, WI to see the Green Bay Packers, I would recommend a stop at the Packer Pro Shop which is connected to Lambeau Field on the North end of the stadium. They have a TON of Packer gear some of which can be found elsewhere, but most not so.
Gear like the cute white hat Brett wore during the beating they took in Seattle on Monday.
If you have enough Packer garb to last a lifetime, but need tickets to a Packer Football game, as always visit Ticket King online and you will be in great shape with your cute new hat and cheap Packer tickets!

Roughing the Passer?
You have got to be kidding me! I don't fair so well on determining holding calls, but this one even I could tell was a bad call!
The Green Bay Packers should have won tonight in Seattle (well except for the fact that they allowed that Alexander guy to run for a million yards). Damn history... All the stories. Looking back. The stories were told as good as any Days of our Lives episode. Trouble with this is that the teacher always wins.
Sure we heard the new Quest Field is the loudest in the NFL, but until I saw the fans on their feet the ENTIRE game, did I believe it to be true. These fans were super loud from the kick off. It would do the Lambeau faithful some good to take to a lesson or two from that playbook.
Well, three more home games left for the Pack - the Jets, the Lions and the Vikings end the season on the 21st of December. Will the 21st be the last home game for Favre? Will he end his career on New Years Eve at Soldier Field?????? We shall see. In the mean time, if you need tickets to see this future hall of fame quarterback in person, check out my friends at Ticket King - super nice, super fair pricing and a Wisconsin company....Go Pack Go!

Favre and Holmgren....Together Again!
Just a few hours until kickoff.....I sit as the lone fan at work with Packer gear on. I strongly believe you need to represent regardless. Others in their "casual monday" attire differ.
That's ok.
The last time the two guys, Favre and Holmgren were together in Seattle for a football game, Holmgren was wearing Green and Gold and was leading the Packers straight to the Super Bowl. Times have changed, but our quarterback hasn't. That is also ok.
I will look forward to chit-chatting about a Packers win tomorrow. Until then, Let's Go Packers.
